This 1929 Tudor style brick house was bought in 2022 by a young family looking to raise their two children in the city while enjoying the breadth of nature available in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. While spacious, the house rigidly separated traditional work spaces like the kitchen and pantry from spaces of leisure, an arrangement that was at odds with the family’s lifestyle. This renovation created a new sunny eat-in kitchen to serve as a nucleus for family activities while maximizing connections to the landscape oasis behind the home.
